I was born in Norway, where I've spent my childhood in a bilingual environment since my mother is German and my father Norwegian. Both my parents are artists, thus they had a massive influence from early on, contributing greatly to my passionate interest in art, drawing, design, film and comics. I've lived in close proximity to the scenic and inspiring Norwegian nature, but I've also travelled frequently to Germany which has become a second home to me.
After graduating from high school, I moved to Germany to study Visual Communication at Muenster University of Applied Sciences, where I specialized in illustration. Parallell to my studies I worked on a number
of projects. I did pre-production sketches for a German SF television series
at Elektrofilm Production Facilities GmbH, and I was employed as an illustrator by Cornelsen Verlag, Germanys leading publisher of schoolbooks.
For my degree I specialized in character design and production painting
and I graduated with a Master in illustration and graphic design.
During the first half of 2003 I was employed at Lucasfilm Ltd. Under
the supervision of Trisha Biggar and Iain McCaig I created costume
and character concepts for Star Wars Episode III, "Revenge of the Sith".
This assignment involved concept work in three different locations; Elstree Film Studios in London, Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco and Fox Studios in Sydney. Further informationon on my work on this film can be found here: interview I and if you are a Hyperspace member: interview II
I am currently employed as Art Director for Funcom in Oslo, which is a leading computer game developer specializing in consoles and online gaming. |
